The Force is strong with the crew of the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, who’ve created perhaps the best Star Wars: The Force Awakens fan trailer yet using “the Ike” as their backdrop.
Although there are Star Wars parodies left, right, and center these days as the December 18th release of The Force Awakens nears, it takes a certain level of skill and dedication to create one that mirrors both the heart and cinematic visuals of the franchise.
Major props to Mass Communication Specialist 3rd Class Alex Delgado on the Ike for creating and editing the trailer. What makes this faithful send-up pop is its visual rhythm and the pacing of its editing, as well as the completely unique quality of footage. After all, it’s not every day we get to see a light saber battle on the deck of a Nimitz-class aircraft carrier.
