Video Blocks Focuses on 4K Footage

4k footage was a big theme at NAB. We were thrilled to be in an arena where we were surrounded by the industry’s best 4k technology. After talking to many of our customers, we realized there is a great need for 4k footage, so we’re making it a top priority this year! As a result, we purchased our very own Scarlet X! We’ll be using it to bring you a whole new library of amazing 4K content. Not familiar with the camera? Here’s some info on what this powerful little machine can do.

As expected, we see hit-and-run victim John Locke
arriving at the emergency room at the same time as gut-shot Sun
and shell-shocked Jin. Finally the best tip of all is not to allow dirt to accumulate excessively.

Or be prepared to pay a professional PR person to do it for you.

I predict that 4K will not make a huge splash for at least five more years. For those producing features, shown in theaters, maybe. The problem is that all of the support equipment will lag for sometime: 4K projectors, 4K TVs, 4K television broadcast (forget it).

The only “real” use for 4k today is creating special effects, and even then you better have a plethora of connected computers to be able to handle it. The extra pixels make it easier to match move, rotoscope, etc.
